Not sure where this gets tasteless except maybe the jazzy break of “Plattenbau" and it's fun so it balances out.

Which is fair tbh, I tend to like their explosiveness and like some good ol bombast in my metal, which is pretty well-suited for their style here for me.

“only one of their albums, have it on CD and it is a banger”
Dude u need to check out their other stuff, especially What Passes for Survival I feel like u would really latch onto that record. Yeah it’s very dissodeath but there’s definitely a strong mathcore and noise rock influence on their newer stuff.
I being them up here because Pyrrhon also do the “dissodeath as a metaphor for living under capitalism” schtick. Both can exist certainly, but I was wondering why this wasn’t clicking for me in the way Pyrrhon does. I think with Pyrrhon they come off more unhinged than this, like they’re running for their lives while kicking everything in sight. I think the music here is still very good, and the sax is wonderfully integrated, but this doesn’t have the same sense of relentlessness as Pyrrhon. On the other hand, I can see people preferring this over Pyrrhon because it’s not as relentless. It’s clear these guys are aiming for a different approach to the same concept, so I can’t knock it down too much.

pyrhhon are my favourite band with no 5s
plenty of songs that are perfect (happy victims creed and sleeper agent both regularly feature on my most played of the year round ups) but no albums that are 5/5
easily my fav metal band

I've heard a lot of similar comments about them, very surprised that they don't seem to pull in the rates you'd expect.

Their style is pretty abrasive even in the context of their genre, so I can imagine they're a bit more challenging to get into.
