This is the most pretentious band I have ever heard. Avant-garde? More like avant-arse

I know this is good, but I'm rarely getting the urge to actually listen to it (after a fairly fleeting little dabble on release). Conflicted. Patiently awaiting a suitable time to dive back in before doing anything drastic.

On the other hand Alphaville has ridiculous staying power and is arguably still growing on me.

I've been listening to this album every other day since release. It's absolutely captivating in so many ways... But I would highlight the drumming. It's one of the most memorable drumming performances I've heard in a metal album

The production is excellent and sounds like it was recorded ‘live’, instead of a cut and paste job. There’s natural ambience all over the record.

Still think Vile Luxury is the best thing they have done.

Damn, I just don't know which way to go with this. Like, on paper the whole ethos of this band's music is great, but then I see the album art and its Klimt influence and I'm like are they really grasping that kind of Vile Luxury image? Like Klimt is most enjoyed by upper-middle class office manager types nowadays, where's the depraved decadence, and does the music even capture that? I'm probably putting way too much thought into a pretty good death metal album idk

Sooo good. The first 2 bands that opened were solid, though some lame deathcore band played right before IT. Thankfully IT was a massive improvement. The drummer is insane. Highlight of the 3 members.

Did you see Sylvaine too, and Zeal & Ardor, or were they touring with other bands on your leg?
