New style isn't exactly my thing but this is super well done. Could very well become a 4 after a few listens.

I'm kinda with onion on Survivor's Guilt. Def my least fav here.
Everything else owns tho, closer grew on me big time dad rock vibes aside

yea. i still like survivors guilt that hook is pretty good plus honestly ya need smth more uptempo to transition away from mistaken info over to reverse the curse but man is that synth intro j the most jarring shit to the albums vibe lol
and yea world stops turning has grown on me quite a bit. its great. swap survivor for season (not necessarily in that slot) and this is basically perfect to me, but i still dont skip it

Survivor's Guilt intro rules

Literally almost all mid tempo songs, quite the snooze fest. Reverse the Curse is the best thing on here.

This band used to be one of my favorites. I think this album is pretty good.
|
| |
Side note, nothing on here compares to This Could Be Anywhere In The World, hands down their best song. Wish they reached their height on this album, but not even close
|
| |
Path this band is taking reminds me of Thrice and that's NOT a good thing

Complicit, Familiar Drugs, and Season of the Flood should've been somewhere on this record, but even without those three and with the flawed mixing, this project is pretty great.

i dont like either 2019 single nearly enough to throw them on here but season absolutely deserves a home. one of the best songs theyve ever made
been jamming it in two spots since this dropped and havent been able to decide which i like more so i jam em both about equally lol:
1. season as the opener: slide it right before committed and it loops around tremendously from the closer since theyre both in the same key. only not sold on it bc committed is a ripper of an opener as is
2. between mistaken info and survivors guilt: would be a much less jarring transition than that survivors guilt synth intro j smashing the vibe of mistaken info. only not sold on it bc season has like a minute of build up at the start that flows more naturally in the opening slot
but yea either way song is amazing

Funny enough I didn't really care for the standalone singles at all. Season of the Flood grew on me big time but the other two did not have me excited for their return.
This however pulled through and then some. Loving it.

yea familiar drugs has some cool moments but for the most part it and complicit are both pretty unremarkable

I wanna check this out but I hate the album art

"What I find interesting is how sput is so open on some bands changing their sound and not so on others."
Yup. We rightfully crucified Underoath for reforming and making butt-rock and writing songs below their great quality level. AOF comes back and starts making Ford Truck commercial anthems and everyone starts throwing 4s at their feet and saying its as good as their best albums.

idk jeet there's a difference between making octanecore and what aof did here. This sounds way more genuine for starters, it's very stonery and still has that aof bite to it, not to mention George and Dallas sound outstanding
