Never watched that show but it sure is an astounding track. So good. Lovesong is also sooooo tight. Love that jam. I love that this is one of those albums that only gets better with time. There is something new that I enjoy on every listen.

Walking into Our Price and seeing this in the New Releases section next to The Stone Roses debut.

No internet, no phone, no Sky tele, no Streaming, no Netflix and a ceaseless mountain of absolute drek.

I really should have checked this album out years earlier. For many years I only had their 3 albums of the early 80's (which are all amazing) and The Top (1984) which has some solid songs.

On Disintegration I love the sometimes ethereal guitar sounds and the sad and very melancholic atmosphere. As a goth music lover (dark wave, goth rock, ethereal & neoclassical darkwave and sometimes death rock) this album immediately clicked with me.

Some songs even remind me of The Chameleons atmosphere-wise (like Prayers For Rain, Closedown and the title track), especially their Strange Times album (1986).

It's hard to pick favourite songs after two listens, but so far I like them all, especially:

The Same Deep Water As You, Prayers For Rain, Plainsong, Closedown, Homesick.

By the way this will surely be a 4.5 for me soon.

How do you not love the s/t track, it's the goth anthem of the album.

Often I just need time to let an album unfold. It often comes with time then suddenly I start to love a certain song (or more songs). Also I usually only listen to an album once a day no matter how much I love it.

Also I can't give it a 5.0 already, I would be lying to myself. Just give me time.

yeah they're one of those bands whose hits don't really get old imo, except maybe Friday I'm in Love - but even that one, when played somewhere unexpectedly, is a bit of a joy
