Don't get why this gets so much hate. Lots of fantastic songs on here. The drumming is insane, the mix is great, songwriting on point.

its pretty bad but i dont disagree with the message. its just unfortunate that you immediately get associated with the right wing camp when you speak out about this topic.
but then also its kind of in the rock and specifically metal tradition to shock or at least be controversial.

idk if they will attract a significantly right wing crowd with this but if they do id rather have them listen to decapitated than actual openly bigoted artists.

it's because complaining about cancel culture is basically dogwhistling that you want to call people slurs 90% of the time
and even when you're not doing that it's just very cringe

Album Rating: 4.0
it should not be cringe though, cancel culture is a real problem

I think "cancel culture" is happening because people who have real (usually undeserving) power are finally starting to fear minorities and the working class and the lgbtq+ community etc. That's a good thing. The quote-unquote little people who have been marginalized, stoned, genocided since the beginning of time etc are starting to have a say in what goes and what doesn't go in popular culture. This is unequivocally good progress imo.
Madbutcher is right, think about it. 90% of the time if someone is complaining about cancel culture it's Chads doing it in the cab of their pickup truck behind their aviator sunglasses on facebook or Instagram or tiktok. And they're usually complaining about something being canceled because the person did something super shitty to/against/towards a marginalized group. GOOD. Fuck em. These Chads make these videos because they are literally unable to come to terms with the facts that America isn't the greatest country in the world and that they as white people are starting head and shoulders ahead of every other ethnic group on any endeavor they pursue. And it obviously happens outside of the US too. People everywhere feel like they are entitled to be shitty people without repercussions.
I like u a lot flug so I like to imagine you're not a chad. But I implore you to think about what the terms "cancel culture" and "woke" are trying to evoke when used. Ultimately what cancel culture really is in reality is holding people accountable for doing or saying shitty things.

Flug could potentially be referring to some toxic behavior Id agree is worth talking about but we’ll absolutely never fucking know because there’s a million confusing definitions for whatever the fuck cancel culture is. Dispense with the term, speak specifically.

I think it's pretty clear what "cancel culture" refers to.
In all my years of viewing fox news and other right-wing propaganda against my will, I have never encountered facets of the so-called "cancel culture" that are more toxic than the behavior at hand that causes shit to get canceled in the first place.
In other words, talk about how cancel culture is toxic if you want but just know all the times you're silent about actual bigotry, you're telling on yourself.

Using 'you' figuratively here since I haven't interacted with you before. Not accusing you of anything. Im just stating what that kind of behavior looks like to other people.
