Buhh I guess I’m not checking this (anytime soon)… which is crazy considering how good the dark pool was

These guys had been great at marketing their brand and sound before this album, which made the singles even worse when taking that into account. What happened lol

Well it’s not as bad as I was expecting so it’s got that going for it at least. But honestly it just begs the question: What would this album sound like without the Vocal filter? Well we get that answer with the closer and title track Heroine. And man it just makes we wish they dropped it completely.

When I first heard Blue Velvet, I literally paused it and played Sextape and then went back and was like “this is the same song”

this is trying so hard to be Deftones that I can't even enjoy the songs without wanting to go listen to Deftones instead

plus the compression in the vocals is too much for me, one or two tracks with that mixing would be fine but it's pretty much the entirety of the album

mostly checked this on a whim and "djeftones" is definitely an apt descriptor. i kinda dig it tho, namely Valentine and Hollywood.

"not sure what's worse tbh, discount deftones or progressive genericore"
I mean with the Deftones worship at least you get like 2-3 solid songs cus its real hard to not make SOMETHING worthwhile with that formula. Prog genericore just ends up being boring as shit tho.

That might very well change soon enough, and no, it’s not because I would be bumping up obsidian.

Title Track is probably the best song on here.

this album was a chore to get through :/

these vocal melodies and the gloomy deftones mush just don't work for me at all

@jay if you were gonna spin 1 song here prob make it the opener. still hindered by the shitass vocal production but its a pretty decent song.

tbh most of this isnt like disastrously awful like the singles made it sound like itd be, but it is reallly boring (not helped by that obnoxious vocal prod)

I can't believe I like this. I am ashamed. But I kinda knew I would. I have a soft spot for heavy butt rock
