The hook to Cubicle Dialogue has been branded into my head ever since I heard it. These guys hands down have the best hooks in the genre rn.

"These guys hands down have the best hooks in the genre rn." [2]

These guys actually know how to write hooks, including for screaming parts. I've been so jaded with post-hardcore/metalcore for a decade now because everybody's hooks suck and they all want to sound like a cross between Architects and Linkin Park/BMTH.

Somehow Static Dress makes chords catchy just by perfect use of staccato and small embellishments instead of just trying to rip for 3 minutes.

Funny how a band that takes elements of every band I love from the '00s sounds fresh after most people wrote off a majority of bands from the scene.

I'm all in for more bands bringing that 00's post hardcore sound back while still being fresh

Same because it's my favorite genre/era and mostly what I still listen to but I'm running out of bands to discover from back then.

Funny enough, I actually did click on it before your comment. I didn't realize that album was so highly regarded. I've known Pitiful from the movie Grind and another one of their songs always comes on one of the workout playlists I have. I'll have to give it a deep dive once I'm done overplaying this and the new Coheed leak.

Can we talk about how good the production is on this??

so many core releases these days are overproduced with overly slick tones, tons of vocal layering, and digitally perfected to the point of almost feeling artificial at times

everything here just sounds so crisp & clean. feels like the band just went into the studio and fucking nailed it without the producer really having to do much

Definitely a grower.

Also, around 3:00 of Marisol, I thought 'Faint Object Camera?'

I'm really curious to see how this band progresses over time. I hope this is their "only chasing safety" and they just go heavier with each album before finally releasing their own disambiguation

I hope they have a few really heavy tracks on each album but I don't think going heavier overall would necessarily be an improvement. Could be wrong though, the seem pretty capable of writing well with damn near any approach.
