Dunno if I could stomach a documentary on Ian

The thing about Ian that is so unnerving is that he's shown 0 shame to be the monster he is since he's been caught. He revels in other's misery. Also he wrote many uplifting songs that felt genuine through many years. At least the black metal dudes write about how awful they are as people lol.
It was such an out of left field plot twist and I felt the "betrayal" a lot harder than for someone like Lambesis. A pure psychopath.

crazy how many spotify listeners this band still gets
|
| |
First album is their best album and even though usually I can separate the art from the artist (Brand New, most black metal bands etc) the fact he referred to raping a baby as MEGA LOLZ just makes that impossible. So yeah, fuck the welsh nonce cunt

How the fuck do they have so many spotify listeners Mort. wow never noticed. 84k for literally one single I don't even remember.
|
| |
yeah and their songs still have millions of streams.
i get listening to them out of morbid curiosity but personally i cant stand the idea of listening to a child rapist sing
something so personal about the voice compared to other instruments (for obvious reasons) that just makes it worse when singers turn out to be awful people

Yeah I like a few of their songs but I can't listen to them in good conscience

But bro didn't you know SA on children is "mega lulz"?
|
| |
Knowing how many streams they get makes me prey that there was something in their contract that says they can’t get royalties if they are charged with a federal crime
|
| |
no such thing as a federal crime in the uk mate
|
| |
I thought tbey got taken off Spotify
|
| |
and as far as i know, in the uk your business or earnings are only forfeit if theyve been implicated in the crime your convicted of.
so seeming as lostprophets as a business/act had nothing to do with his crimes, he will continue to receive royalties and will be able to access them once out of prison

Just checked and yeah, they're not on Spotify anymore. At least not for me. Maybe a region based thing? I'm US, fwiw.

I remember I quite liked The Fake Sound Of Progress back in the day. This one never really clicked though. Haven't listened to either one in ages, and not sure I really want to.

I've said it before I'll say it again.
If you can separate art from artist that's ok. Just don't judge people who can't.
If you can't that's also ok. Just don't judge people who can.
Me personally, I still listen to L.P., but not legally, fuck that shitstain getting any royalties from me. L.P. is more than just Watkins for me.
|
| |
thanks for the stunning insight into the relationship between the artist and their art (nobody asked)
just regurgitating your opinion that you shouldnt judge people for/for not separating the art from the artist without any explanatory reasoning, nice one
