"tbh whats funny to me is that basically nobody outside of the us has heard of them"
wack take, they were household fare in the uk for years past their peak
also in spite of anything this kinda a popular classic of its time and i am probably underrating it but refuse to address this

This review is hilarious when you read it as an ironic counterpoint to Asleep's Ghost Mice review
|
| |
"So his voice suddenly changed upon learning about what a disgusting pos he is?"
Not what I meant at all.
|
| |
The bandmates did form No Devotion with Geoff Rickey just so everyone here is aware. They only made one album buts it's really good. Would recommend if you like synth rock.

Yeah i think we all know that. That album was a collective sputnik orgasm.

this was exactly why i clicked on it to begin with lol

Eh, you never know. It came out seven years ago.

'wack take, they were household fare in the uk for years past their peak' (2)
and yeah I feel like you could've done a little more to explain what's so great about this album apart from the 'it has hooks' argument, but maybe that is all you need idk.
Otherwise this is a valiant attempt at the whole art / artist thing, probably one of the absolute hardest to attempt given the circumstances - so for that, you get some respect.
I never cared for this band even in my younger years, which obviously feels rather fortunate now.

>wack take, they were household fare in the uk for years past their peak
fine fine anglosphere then
|
| |
Buddy if I had a nickel for every time a band was only popular in the anglosphere...
|
| |
Yeah, apparently seems to be a thing...
trying to remember if any of those bands have ever actually been good

Yeah, I knew this wouldn’t be my best review. But I don’t give a fuck, I had fun remembering the album.

> "tbh whats funny to me is that basically nobody outside of the us has heard of them"
the band are welsh lmao
|
| |
from fucking sheep to fucking babies, when will this nightmare end
|

“Last Train Home” was one of my favorite jams growing up. So damn catchy
|
| |
Because I don't read music news or social networks. I've been shocked at the amount of information I've gotten over the last few days. O_o
|
| |
I'm the kind of person who doesn't know about the artists, so I'm not sensitive to scandals. I should stop following any artist's private affairs in the future for their human character quality has nothing to do with art. It is much simpler and easier to just focus on the work.

Funny you did this review cus like last week I remembered this album and how I loved a lot of stuff on here growing up.
Imagine being in a band and just finding out one day that your bandmate's weird behaviours are actually grooming. The video for Town Called Hypocrisy hits very differently now.
Also why are people so happy to announce their cognitive dissonance? Noone gives a fuck about whatever excuses you have about listening to music made by paedos in the same way noone gives a fuck about the excuses people churn out to continue listening to nazi black metal bands.
