righteous review, hoping this is better than koloss and violent sleep cause those were snoozers overall

why did metalsucks rip off intro in a much inferior way:

God He Sees In Mirrors is a craaazzyyy track, bringing back those weird Chaosphere solos is always welcome m/
Band is doing a good job of throwing back to their past works on this one.

I'm halfway through the album and need a break. But from what I've heard so far, I'm liking this a LOT more than TVSOR. We have the same old Meshuggah slog of lumbering monotonous chuggery, but there's a barebones, airier, free-sounding tone to it that I haven't heard from this guys in a while, maybe ever. They sound relaxed and confident. The dizzying jazzy fits have more 4/4 padding and room to groove, and there sounds like there's a lot of callbacks/prior-album-vibes.
Wild. Can't wait to finish this.

I’m not massive on these guys but I’d be lying if I wasn’t intrigued by the rec by reviewer section… ‘Boards of Canada’ erm… you what? 😄
Then Car Bomb is there to bring me right back down to Earth, but still, this is an intriguing development. Here’s the bit where I find out it’s barely anything to do with the music. I’ll be right back…

Demon, honestly, give it a shot. I didn't "get" Meshuggah until I was in the right point and mindset for it to click, and then I became obsessed. Comes down to how much you appreciate technicality while also locking yourself into a hypnotic groove. And I'd say the groove is a lot easier to lock into here than it has been in years.....since Nothing maybe?
In a lot of circumstances I'm just not in the right mood to listen to thee guys, but when I am, literally nobody else sounds like them or hooks me into a drugged-out head-bobbing sesh like they do.

idk i’d be surprised if this was the album the convince someone of the shug if they weren’t fans (or just lukewarm) of their previous material
it’s great mind you but it’s also shug through and through
