Agreed, Atari. I'm in love with this. Also am I being wildly inaccurate in saying that there's something to Four Chords that is at least mildly reminiscent of an abbreviated "An Introduction to the Album" by The Hotelier?

Can't get over how good Bankruptcy is.

I can sorta hear that Sowing! Haven't jammed that album in forever though, might need to rectify that.

I can totally fuck with grungy production (Pinkerton, O'Brother's "Garden Window" are some of my favorite albums ever) but this is too much to where it detracts, which is obviously not ideal.

The first four songs are literally flawless and there's still plenty of goodness beyond them

I have a silly question

Do signed bands usually have the right to review the quality of the production? or they have to listen to their labels or the producers?

depends on their label and working relationship with their producer and contract

love this band but am big time underwhelmed with this so far. their songwriting and chemistry are mostly still there, but damn this lacks the bite that made them such a distinctive act to begin with

struggling to form opinions on: the amine op ascending chorus melody on Matilda, the slackass chorus in Waiting, the stupid fucking guitar solo in Waiting

ed. byebye avg rating, whoops

matilda and totally fine are the only songs n this that i feel have staying power though four chords and relentless also rule. everything else is either too badly mixed or too lyrically empty however these songs are sooooo fun live

I don't hear the awful production to be honest. I went in purposely trying to listen for it.

i mean i guess the standard was set very high after TDiO but man this thing performs more compressions than a nursing home assistant working overtime
