This really feels like Brian and Stef flexing their songwriting muscles, even moreso than Sleeping With Ghosts. It's a privilege to hear these brilliantly crafted songs from 2 people who have spent 20+ years honing their craft.

Why bands like Chevelle and Placebo have give up of replacing one of the members?

I’d wager it’s down to convenience. Having two heads in the band allows for ease writing and managing the band, with less egos involved. Just use touring musicians to pick up the slack.

The results speak for themselves here anyway

I'm currently whispering it very quietly, but this might be the best thing they've ever done.

I heard you hang.
Digging The Prodigal most on here so far.
Not sure if I like Hugz.

Really enjoying this album. I really liked battle for the sun but disappointed with LLL, this is a real step up.

Really like: hugz, prodigal, try better next time, and twin demons, but it’s all good.

Agree molko’s voice is sounding strong and good, some nice lush moments here musically too.

Sad White Reggae is really nice, don't see ppl talking about it

Album is better than I hoped it'd be and I was hoping for a Meds-level release, so this is a super nice surprise

I don't think this beats WYMN but it's good to reconnect. I'm not their biggest fan though, I stopped listening to them after BMM, I didn't like 'Protect me' at the time on the radio (and still don't) and moved on to other things

Perhaps could have used a slightly shorter runtime?

Try Better Next Time was a bit filler, I found.

In any event these guys are still popular, 8.5m listens for Beautiful James on Spotify

I agree, he has been sounding less nasal since BftS which is great.

"So, all this time the drummer was the problem?"

The newer guys yeah, but really the lefty drummer Hewitt should have never been kicked out

Yeah the OG drummer was great. I doubt his replacement had too much say, but it certainly wasn't the same without Steve.
