Review Summary is kinda lame low hanging fruit, but the review itself is great and as per I agree Robert.

Not as bad as I expected it to be. Motörhead worship is fine. The title track is actually good... the whole record just suffers from bad mixing.
A reminder of one of the greatest pictures ever taken:

Wooo well big disagreement on this one. I would say this is the first Abbath album I've actually liked. Great musical ideas and sounds. I can hear the instrumentation just fine. There is some distortion and wash that is plenty appropriate to a black metal album. I found earlier Abbath work among other things, a little too studio slick for my tastes. This is like a less riff intensive, more expansive sounding Bathory's the return in of course Abbath's style. Love the distant sounding leads. Percussion is mixed low and on point, providing a nice stomp throughout. The vocal performance growls and howls with the best. I even like the cover from ride the lightning. I can hear of course some of where the complaint comes from, there's more compression than necessarry. So I can see where irritation can come in and ruin an album for some, and usually, if something is overcompressed I am right with those critics but this one was working for me. A distant, echo-y juggernaut was just what I was in the mood for.

Wtf? How is production on this fantastic? It has absolutely nothing to do with the primitive style of early black metal. This has simply absolutely atrocious mixing. It doesn't add anything to the style or atmosphere, it's simply bad.
Listen to some old school Brazilian black metal from late 80' and early 90'. This was primitive production. It sounds as if recording hardware was made out of sweet potatoes and soya beans and mixing was done on a speaker less Atari. But somehow they managed to make the instrumentation legible.
This is an utter, unlistenable piece of shit.

Came here after seeing Abbath congratulating themselves on their facebook page after getting a 9.5/10 review from Metal Injection. lmfao

Expected worse tbh. The idea of Motorhead but make it thrash black is cool, it's just a little boring here.

@Senetrix
have you missed the whole retro trend in metal and rock ?
and btw let me tell you a little secret: it's not like the "old" recording techniques of the 1980s have been lost to time.
and no the production doesn't suck cause it sounds too "modern", it sucks cause it fails to do its "job".
