Not even sure what the problem with Putney's production is. Everything I've heard lately thats been produced by him has sounded good/great.

The bass and harsh vocals just sound like they're peaking for pretty much the entire album. Drums and guitars sound great

Something about the muddier production makes the songs feel more...confrontational/in your face, which I really like. Errorzone sounded razor sharp which works good for that album but this is kind of a different beast.

Trying to process this album. It’s really interesting. Unpopular opinion: the samples add nothing to these songs.

That "Lose my mind" sample adds a lot to Magazine Beach but thats about the only instance where a sample kinda makes the song better

And I guess the voicemail in the closer too

I thought the voicemail in the closer completely killed the song’s momentum, but hey, to each their own.

Fleshwater LP will undoubtedly rule. Probably gonna have a better reception than this it seems haha. Surprised people aren't totally blown away by this like I am.

For some reason there was more buzz about Vein before the release of Errorzone than this. Lack of live concerts in the last couple of years might have something to do with that plus people were so eager and intrigued on what the first ever album by them was going to sound like.

I don’t agree at all, I’d argue they’ve only fleshed themselves out with this

So I just relistened to Errorzone and this back to back and man... I gotta agree with Scoot that the production slightly hinders this. Also something worth noting is the absence of a second guitarist on this album. Josh (the lefty guitarist) quietly left the band in 2020 I believe, so yeah this alb is all Jeremy.

Errorzone rocks so stupid hard man

Honestly it's definitely an unfair standard to uphold any hardcore release to. Even now I've heard nothing capture that similar batshit insane/partially melodic numetal hardcore vibe that makes it a near masterpiece
