Crazy that this works, there are songs on this that sound like Sempiternal era BMTH, but also more than a few that wouldnt feel that out of place on a Weeknd album for example

I guess a lot of people are saying Thats the Spirit/ Amo era BMTH, which is probably more accurate, but this is better executed than either of those albums imo

The difference between this and BMTH is that there's someone who can actually sing on this record and the songs don't diverge into annoying bullshit as often.

honestly this doesn't really sound like BMTH anymore, at least for the most part

definitely feels like they're trying to diversify their sound a bit

Yeah, since February, this has grown on me a ton more. The oli comparisons are unfortunate because this album does so much more than clone BMTH, unlike most other acts, but his voice is very similar. And a couple of tunes are pretty generic BMTH rip offs, but on the whole I love this album. Even the less immediate ones are solid

I only properly got into this in the last few days. Definite grower. Title track, Like A Villain, Just Pretend and The Grey absolutely slap nuts.

I wanna like Just Pretend but that chorus has been so overplayed on tiktok it's insane.

I don't have tiktok so had no idea it'd been used on there. That's pretty good publicity for the band though

I used to be the guy that said tiktok was stupid nonsense for teens and the whole "I'm too old for this shit", but man it's addictive. And I'd argue if your feed sucks it's mostly on you. It's pretty easy to "trick" the algorithm into showing you things you like.

Singer of this band is one of the biggest tools I’ve ever known and that alone will probably always stop me from enjoying anything by this band

For real? Never heard anything about him being a bad dude. Care to explain or provide some sauce?

He’s not a bad person to my knowledge, just a weird dork that used to bring a taser with him to shows and brag about it because he thought he was tough lmao, which he’s like 90 pounds soaking wet so that in and of itself is funny.

He’s just a spoiled rich kid that never had to pay his own rent and never held a job because his mom bought him a cushy spot and paid for a bunch of his tattoos for him. He always acted like he was better and more important than everyone in the room even though the bands he was in that played shows with my bands back in the day all sucked ass. But take that for what it’s worth, he’s semi-successful and I’m still here on Sputnik talkin shit lol.

But you could say that about basically anyone in the entire genre of modern metalcore, all these bands are filled with rich kids. The days of DIY and not playing to backing track electronic beep boops on an axfx are long gone

Didn't know the singer was a douche, l don't have to be around him if he is so eh. Can't take his live performances away though, from what i've seen, he's pretty solid
