dream pop doesn't have to be homogenous. granted i haven't heard this because 80 minutes of beach house we sound like torture to me

i mean the production style is pretty defying for a lot of bm, which i don't think is neccesarily the case for dream pop and homogeneity

the whole point of dream pop is homogeneity
all the tracks in an album in fuzzy production flowing into eachother seamlessly like a cloud DREAM ☁☁☁☁☁☁ its a feature

oh yeah i was mostly thinking about the big classic bands like cocteau twins & slowdive. fair enough i guess, not too familar with those artists probably for that reason
(although anat's album & joana serrat are 2 good examples of dream pop from last year that are not homogenous at all)

i think you can still archieve that without the album being homogenous though budgie. like tracks can all have the same atmosphere & flow into each other while still having defying featurues
although i will admit defeat here and say i probably don't know enough dream pop yet

all tracks having the same atmosphere is kind of what im thinking of with homogeneity, maybe we're talking abt diff things. for sure a good super dream poppy album should have tracks that standout
