All their past four albums have been very fun for me. I'd still go with Serenity as my favourite out of those, though I obviously haven't spent much time with this yet.

Disconnected + Hopeless and Beaten are the best Korn songs they've written since they got Welch back on board

I'm really digging Lost in the Grandeur. Love the way it swings.

"might be in their top 5 albums after an initial go"

Can't imagine listening to 5 Korn albums, let alone having a top 5

Even when I was really into Korn as a kid, I always had the same problem with their albums in that they became really tedious and samey after the first few songs/outside of the singles.

I can appreciate the maturity of this album, especially when considering all of their cheesy "back to our roots" attempts over the years. Definitely one of their more respectable efforts. But my issue with this album is the same issue I have with most of their modern output--JD's insistence on dropping a weak melody over every inch of it. He suffocates tracks. Also the groove that made them interesting once upon a time is gone, likely due to having no remaining members of the og rhythm section.

The riffs in Let the Dark Do the Rest also add some much welcomed energy

If this is close to decent I’m going to buy a cd and it will be part of my girlfriends Valentine’s Day gifts.
