I will add them to my stuff to listen to.
Seriously tho... the verses on Sang Real are just so... that piano part and his vocals...
Damn.

Either you or Rowan linked me a song with him screaming in it a while back. Pretty sure it was from the first album and I liked it.

That was Rowan and Sang Real is one of my least favorites. The piano is great but kinda meh to me. My favorites are Ode To The Sun and Bug Eyes. Ode is omg

At the end of Not That Simple the little girl is singing the chorus from Planting Seeds. It has to do with the concepts of the album, foreshadowing, in this instance.

Yeah, plus Zebraskin and Hangover on a Tuesday.
I like to jam this on roadtrips and do El Cielo late night. Pariah anytime is a good time

I know that but it still irks me haha they said the concept is about both saids of an argument but that's all they said about it. Not what the argument is.

I love it. The only song I am not too fond of is the taka hot lava or something song. I forget what its called but its track 6.
I have only heard this shuffled with other stuff, but I have been trying to listen to it straight through while driving to get a better feel for it.

Most concept albums need to be listened straight through to get a better feel. And The Tanbark is Hot Lava. The drumming is fantastic on that song.

They've also said it has a lot of opposite's, or yin and yang. Maybe thats just one of them?
The girl signing bothered me a little at first too. I guess I've just kind of come to the point where I just dont really care that its there. The song would have been fine without it.

I just skip to the next song when that part starts. I guess the argument is up to your own interpretation though. Nothing really matches up to one argument though. I've come to the conclusion that the title track is about resorting to writing about simple shit like love for people to love your band: selling out.

Thats one thing I love about Dredg. Not only is the music great, but the albums always have deeper meanings and a lot of stuff is left up to interpretation. Except for Chuckles...there is nothing deep about that.

Chuckles is the bane of the bands existence ugh fuck that shit. They have lots of work to do to win back my trust.

Agreed. If the next album isn't good I will probably cry. Dredg has been one of my favorites since Jr. High.

Dredg was prob beginning of summer for me haha. And I've listened to El Cielo countless amounts of times. In fact most of my bands now were beginning of summer when I joined here.

Read Gavin's quote in the review

It has a lot to do with Aesthetic Realism and the 15 Questions in the poet Eli Siegel's work titled "Is Beauty the Making One of Opposites?"

Sounds interesting. I will have to try and read the lyrics while listening sometime. Should probably do the same with El
Ceilo, too.
