These and Jockstrap are both definitely worth a listen.

jockstrap is exactly the kind of trend-siphoning finicky bullshit you've pissed your jeans to in a hundred other contexts
hate to break this to you zak, but they ain't gonna make our good nation great again. there was only isaac! and he's flown the coop!!

Indeed but the bird has some decent vocals and there’s a bit of melody going on. It’s actually rather fresh opposed to complete twaddle

what’s a Jockstrap? In musical terms

think I could probably squeeze a slight bump here, if I was in the right mood
Does definitely have some memorable shit and not necessarily in a bad way

"what’s a Jockstrap? In musical terms"
bottom of the barrel baroque pop snoozers wearing glitchy jank for cheap thrills. there are a couple of bangers on the backend of their debut but not nearly enough for it not to be a total disaster

“It's strange to me how put off by vocals some people are, I rarely dislike a vocalist”
His voice just hits me wrong 🤷 There are some other beloved vocalists that do the same for me like Greg Pucciato and Chino Moreno I’m real hit or miss with (though, that might be a combo of his voice and style.)

I love this album which is wild because I really did not like their first, may try For the First Time again just to be sure I'm not trippin

Jockstrap was boring af live, basically karaoke
BCNR was also a disappointment, but mainly because the “let’s write a new album in 2 months to detach from our previous singer” thing sounded exactly like you’d expect

Are this band now officially dead or no
Feel like there’s now a void where hype used to be
|
| |
i feel like thats par for the course when a band like this has such a meteoric rise

Gravitys Rainbow under one arm, Cor Anglais under the other.
Eating Vietnamese and washing it down with a Hoxton home brewed IPA after a hard day on the laptop in the Barista.
A walking parody finding their place among the homogenous, globalised and sterilised.
I’ll form a band with Jocasta, Rupert and Eliot.
Forever clueless.

That said I do like it.

sry u didnt understand gravitys rainbow zak
|

zak being a walking parody of out of touch old men only makes these comments funnier tbh
theres like a kernel of truth in there about how many uk indie bands are full of the privileged upper middle class but zaks daydreaming ramps everything up to ten
