I would say it was a 4 of 5. I dig his singing although its not usaul, maybe thats why its good. Andy your a Star is an awsome song, dont know why but i just want to wail out with Flowers. Awsome review. why i got the CD,

A good album, with the first 5 and last 2 tracks particularly good, especially Midnight Show and Mr Brightside. My only criticism is that I feel like the middle part of the album lets it all down a bit, and I can't stand Glamorous Indie Rock & Roll. But a good album, and a good review.

this album sucks. a few catchy poppy singles and a bunch of filler crap songs. (not that the catchy poppy singles aren't crap)

I like this album, you can listen to it all the way through without skipping a track. Not really my genre but its a good album

"The Killers sound like a refreshing breath of air for mainstream music."
I forgot who said this, but, this would have been true.. in 2003. I really don't like The Killers that much, and I really don't know why. Their whole sound just bothers me.

Good cd, intro to On Top is cool, nice review.

Which song is better, "Glamorous Indie Rock and Roll (UK Version), or "Change Your Mind" (North American Version). Nevermind, I heard Indie Rock & Roll live in Indianapolis and I love it more than Change Your Mind. This Message Edited On 07.25.05

Glamorous Indie Rock and Roll is so wicked the first time you hear it. That's about it.

Got it right after I heard "Somebody Told Me".
As others have said, the first half is great, but the second half is meh.

Mhm, maybe shoudl ook at the albu, they were good when they played before U2 and I kinda like that voice, it's something different ^^

To Something Vague... I agree. I can't stand the cheesy 80s music sound of the Killers. I really don't like this band. Sorry.
|

Actually, I do like the Killers now. At least, I do a lot more than I used to. Good stuff, besides "Somebody Told Me".
|
| |
Hm... I still don't like them.

Great review. I still can't bear the singer's voice, however. Some songs are quite catchy such as Mr. Brightside, though.

this album WILL grow on you. but more you get into it and as it nears its end it turns out to be a bit dissapointing.
the first 5 songs are great and are very memorable. after that there are one or two others and the rest is very b-sideish. anyway good review for a good (above average album). 4/5

These guys don't have any more talent than any other boring band out there. I mean, songwriting talent is a matter of opinion, but their instrumentals are somewhere between standard and weak, which is probably why they come off as tight and cohesive even though it's their first album. These guys are so overrated that it's almost frightening. The bad, bad lyrics mixed with the lame half-techno feel that they occasionally chuck in make for an unforgettable sound - the kind of unforgettable that gets stuck in your head and ruins days at a time because it won't get the hell out. It's catchy, but it's poorly done, and they've received far more publicity than they deserve to have.

This album goes downhill in the middle but their one of the best live acts on the planet.
|

This is an ok album, but they do have a pretty good live show. The first half is like most people say, stronger, but the second half has som good tracks.
