It grew on me and is still very solid overall but I think the instrumental track and the Elegy trilogy are all near-complete misses and that definitely does some damage. Front half has some really good shit though.

I was hyped up for this but for some reason never really came back to it despite me thinking its pretty damn good. I think it has something to do with the massive amount of great new music that dropped in Q1.

Indeed Muzz listen to this on some good speakers/headphones and itll blow you away. I like the war themes in this album i think its done masterfully on tracks like Of Fury. Also Elegy track rules i dont see how you couldnt find the epic symphonic elements in that track to be absolutely jaw dropping.

The "sing ourselves to sleep" bit that gets repeated through all of them doesn't do anything for me, and I just don't find Chris doing vocals very appealing, so him getting that first track to himself is a fail for me. Between the 3 tracks there are some strong moments but overall I think they're the weakest part of the album.

I think that chorus is really strong actually haha. To each his own I guess. Also III has some really killer sections in it. Personally I think the Elegy tracks is something this band should do more of.

I really wish you guys would stop including melodic deathcore into the best DEATH METAL lists. Sure, both categories are METAL, but deathcore is not death metal and both genres attract a completely different set of audiences.

I don't think I've ever had an album fall off harder for me than this one. Not sure what happened but on my last listen I couldn't help but think everything sounded really mediocre to bad.
