Yeah I was joking Noctus lol. I can def see why it's a bit stressful for you. Being a super star must be very overwhelming though, don't think I would want to be that even if it would have made me super successful

always been bad at recognising jokes lmao. i think when we're talking particularly about forms of art that aren't super accessible or marketable it's difficult to define what success even is. it's enough for me that i made something extremely personal and people really understood it and embraced it.

i think for what comes next i'm making a conscious decision to focus way less on what the 'scene' is doing so that it's easier to make something as isolated from outside influence as possible. there's limits to this of course as i accept i'm not the most original artist ever and the roots of influence are pretty clear in my sound, but the next album is a bit more 'all over the place' stylistically and i'm just enjoying going along on the ride. it's different to the point where i'm half considering ending this project and making a new one but we'll see.

oh please do not scrap it. it being different might just be its biggest strength. being brave enough to do something a bit leftfield is a rarity in artistry in general imo. I personally love it when artists just go for it and try to output something risky. we need more entropy, not less ;)

The Ethereal Shroud name is already established and would definitely help this new material reach a wider audience who are already familiar with Ethereal Shroud rather than a new project and, as others have mentioned, eclectic album jumps definitely aren't odd or uncommon in metal so there's a big argument to keeping the name.



With that said though, it's also totally reasonable if you have a strong emotional attachment to what you developed with ES and want to keep that as a separate chapter from what you're doing going forward. There are no wrong answers, it really depends on what the end goal/vision is.
