Can't wait to check this. Here's to hoping it's better than Dilivium

Haven't listened to or paid attention to these guys in a while, but this absolutely rips.

Neuromancer bridge may be the most sick moment on here. And that tapping part in In Adversity is gorgeous, wish they did more like that

Even Steffen just said they let ideas just lead the album. Bits and pieces that even sound like Megadeth worship and other slight hair metal leanings.

This is getting interesting. This band has been constantly improving since Omnivium, and judging by the comments this is another step up.

The thing that Obscura missing is some Jazzy stuff like they did since Their first album. Well, It's good addition since Lanser leave the band.

Agreed, they could use way more of that.

Also not liking how they brought in clean vocals on one of the tracks. Hope it doesn't become a thing...

When you made that Kalmah comparison my interest was PEAKED

I'm actually jamming Bird of Ill Omen right now, as we speak. Probably a top 5 Kalmah track for me.

I've always greatly appreciated Obscura. Tech death has somewhat fallen out for me but these dudes, Allegaeon, and Archspire still carry the torch for me.

Are you referring to the Soilwork feat.?

I don't see them making it a staple of their sound, I do see some more features in their careers though.

The clean section is just a contrasting detail, I don't expect it to become the norm.

Cheers Dedes,

Bird of Ill Omen is a banger, especially its chorus which is one of the best the band has ever recorded. I hope the lads drop something new in 2022.

2022 already looking positive. 2021 positive? Time will tell.

Hi Mytho ;)

The first quarter has already unveiled some strong releases. I believe it will be a strong year, in fact, I think we're in for an interesting decade.

Checked out the album because of the addition of David Diepold to the pack, not disappointed. As a newbie, which Obscura release should I listen to next?

Loaded question. Start anywhere that's not Diluvium.

Yeah, David did a great job. He recorded the whole album in three days, which is crazy. Nevertheless, I have to confess I wish Hannes had rejoined the team.

Take a peek at Cosmogenesis and Akróasis. Good stuff
