Just a friendly grammatical comment: the way the summary is structured, it ends up saying something slightly different to what I think you want it to say. I think you want it to say the band have never sounded as good as they do on this record. But instead, the summary says that this record has never sounded as good as it presently does. Since this isn't a re-release (right?) that's a weird thing to say. The record has no history of sounding any different.
Anyway, I'll give this album a check! :]

I feel like this has a similar dynamic to New Moon, in that it condenses some of the more sprawling and "epic" songwriting the band does sometimes into a more concise format. But where New Moon got boring except a few standout tracks, this is really solid.
