Dumb comparison to keep lumping them all together tbh. The results are quite different.

Mine is dumb, yeah, but I think it's fair to look at these metal bands pairing with female folk vocalists and make comparisons. Each project ends up being some sort of doom-y/sludge-y amalgamation.

Not really aimed at you, just a general point because it’d be nice being able to discuss each project’s individual merits without resorting to ranking them. I stand by my point that the results are quite different, despite the presence of some similar elements. This one for instance has the greatest variation between songs, which can been seen as either a (cohesive) weakness or a point of intrigue/strength. I say it’s probably both, but despite the variation it generally works well from where I’m sitting. You wouldn’t catch an alt rock track on either of the other releases.
My preferences also don’t necessarily correlate with my faves coming in, but each has it’s strengths and I see them all as distinct from each other as well as from (perhaps more importantly) the ‘parent artist’s’ independent projects.

Failure Forever just started and I thought the song somehow changed to Battle Axe by Deftones

The good thing about those albums is that they all sound different, even if you have a preference. I wish more bands/artists collaborated with each other. Hearing Maria Christopher’s contributions to Oceanic (especially on Weight) was a game changer for me back then.

Omg what a disappointment... Some of you guys are trying a tad hard to like this it seems 🤦🏻♂️ I feel it tries to be deep but ends up being corny. I honestly think that Converge jokingly making a full-on hair metal album would be better than this.

Had the vinyl on preorder, but ended up canceling. Wasn't feeling this one as much as I thought I would.

“Some of you guys are trying super hard to like this it seems”
Why accept the fact that there are a number of people who just enjoy this album, when you can presuppose they’re lying because you don’t.

It was tongue in cheek, of course I don't think they're lying, just that they like Converge so much that they convince themselves that it's good out of loyalty. We've all done it to an extent. But of course I'm aware that some people genuinely like this.

I do like this but I don’t think I’d say this quite lives up to the standards of most of the member’s other works

"Hearing Maria Christopher’s contributions to Oceanic (especially on Weight) was a game changer for me back then." This, so much.
"Some of you guys are trying super hard to like this it seems”

I like Converge. I like Chelsea Wolfe. I like Cave In.
Idk how it’s so hard to comprehend that people genuinely like this record. You seem like a very cynical person man
