Really want to like this but I was just so bored, didn't even make it through one spin. Sounds like recycled/b-side material. Possibly a grower but all of their albums had me solidly engaged pretty easily except this one.

Aw man now I want a Be'lakor b-side compilation.

Great review. Found myself nodding in agreement throughout. This release probably can't boast that initial visceral freshness of Vessels or Of Breath And Bone but it's still undeniably authentic and unmistakably Be'lakor. Much more enjoyable when consumed, uninterrupted, from start to finish too. It also seems objectively harsh for anybody to rate this album poorly but maybe Be'lakor have finally become a victim of their own ridiculously high standards. Still I firmly believe anybody underwhelmed with Coherence would have happily gobbled this shit up and called it a classic if it had been released in '10 or '11 on the heels of the Stone's Reach tour.

@Portal tbh this album took me longer than any of their others to hit it's stride with me. I found this album isn't as easily broken down like previous ones, and like Steiner said, taking it at once in sequence is what did it for me.

This is better than Vessels and fuck it can we please get some more love for Valence? That's possibly the best song they've ever written.

Valence is awesome. Its ending and opening riff are indeed among the best moments the lads have ever recorded.

Valence is definitely my favourite track on this record.

Aye, Valence is beautiful. Literally just whacked it on as I checked here. On a sidenote, I'm impressed with how much the singles have grown on me, I was worried I'd be disappointed by this record but they have bloomed.
Also @Steiner thank you for being here and helping me find Silence Lies Fear. What a splendid band.

Like, every single track that has vocals on this is fucking amazing and fresh. Valence is no exception to that. This album needs to be listened to several times to witness and absorb the glory in its entirety. Best melodeath album since Winter's Gate

I can confirm that when Valence starts rolling, it's impossible to sit still. The body must groove to that shit.

Interesting, off the top of my head I don't have a favorite Be'lakor song. Sure, there are a handful up there but I don't have a pole position at the moment.
