Fuck it, this is my album of the year 2021.

Finally giving this a listen. I can't tell if my tastes have just changed or they've tweaked their "new" style/songwriting enough that I'm just enjoying it more now. Either way this is pretty good.

A New Era of Corruption is still my favorite from these guys by far though.

the first song goes way too hard compared to the rest of the album imo, I wish I could get passed that

It's definitely one of the best songs, but my favourite is the title track

I'm also digging how the last two album arts are using The Exorcist font

Phil being that good at unclean's and cleans is no joke, getting serious Corey Taylor / Mikael A vibes and that's highest of praise.

Think I might have to agree with that yes. Though the opener on this slaps so damn hard too.

Anticure is my favorite, the vibe that song gives is awesome.

I think "History Is Silent" gets slept on quite a bit. I feel like it blends their accessible side and their aggressive side the best on the album.

Yeah, "History is Silent" is probably my favourite here. Amazing how these guys have grown as musicians over the years. Instrumentally this album is splendid, but I never would have expected Phil Bozeman to perform at this level. He was always a very impressive "screamer" (is that a thing?), but his performance here is on a whole another level.

What's the difference between Whitechapel and binge drinking? One involves excessive chugging and is disastrous for physical and mental health, often leading to a loss of brain volume in young people. The other involves drinking.

This album is such a grower. I was lukewarm towards it for the longest time, but now everything works together to create such a vibe. The band blends soft and heavy so well.

Surprised by this having a much higher avg rating than The Valley. I barely find myself going back to this and when I do nothing really sticks out in stark contrast to The Valley

I think it has to do with people getting used to their new influences, and developing a taste for it whereas the Valley was 'the first of it's kind'
