This is their best album since Opposites.
I honestly didn’t think they still had it in them and I bailed off the band years ago.

the best thing about all this was that i prophesied this album being a banger based on the two singles ruling.
feels good to be right.

Criminally underrated band. Incredible musicians that can make radio friendly hits or massive rock anthems while still sounding like weirdos. They can play any genre and still sound like them.

Vocals are fun. I’ll take kooky Scottish vocals over whatever the hell American Alternative rock has done the last 10 years.

The funny thing is sometimes he sounds American, either it's an accidental impersonation of a general 'sound' whilst he sings, or his accent is pretty soft and just comes out like that, not sure. It's weird because many people don't sound like you'd expect them to when they sing. Anyway, I like the fact he's added a little Scottish flavour back into his vox here, because on occasion you really notice.
His voice has never suited balladry though, which is one of the biggest issues with recent Biffy as boy do they love a ballad. The teenage poetry class lyricism doesn't help either.

Having said that this one certainly isn't terrible, colour me impressed (sort of).

Existed is growing on me more and more, compared to other recent Biffy Clyro ballads - I like how primitive synth patches are used instead of big strings or whatever, and for me the melodies are evocative and affecting. The vibe's a bit like Kid Gloves by the lead singer's side project Marmaduke Duke, plus the way the last chorus multitracks a soft vocal take with a throat-shredding one sounds pretty cool

"Cuz im jealous of that quadruple post? Hehe"
uh, no, I was asking because of this post
"I can finally access this thread again yay. Really think this will grown on me a lot and become a solid 4 or 4.5."
got a bit confused since you already seemed to have given this a 5.0 when you posted it lol

not sure what you're talking about here, simon always had a pretty thick scottish accent on songs as far as I can remember.

I really should listen to this considering I'm seeing them on Friday but ETID have me hopelessly hooked.

It's never sounded thick to me, but then maybe I'm unfairly comparing him to idk The Twilight Sad or something.

fair I guess, I don't listen to many other scottish bands to compare him to
