I listened to that album again two days ago
Faker and Tigers are literally the only two songs I could remotely describe in any detail

I've probably listened to AF way more than any other TWI; and I'm not gonna make the hot take that it's better than this -- but, well, yes, I like it more than this. Harmlessness is probably their best, though, and I find that the band is in general shockingly consistent.

same blush, AF is my most played and favorite by them

@Rowan5215 i couldn't find anything for why tyler isn't in the band anymore either. also what songs is he most prominent on vocals wise?

Always Foreign has actually been my most played album of the week, skipped it back when it came out due to the poor reception but checked it in the leadup to this album and I'm pretty obsessed with it. This album rules too though!

Did a little research Tyler Bussey has 2 current projects at least. Strange Ranger which isn’t far removed from his work with TWIABP and a solo project called Thank You Thank You which I am also quite enjoying. Glad I dig into this, he was great on both harmlessness and AF

" what songs is he most prominent on vocals wise"
first verse on I Can Be Afraid of Anything and all of the hidden track on Harmlessness is Tyler vox. never understood why he wasn't the lead tbh he just has a much stronger voice than Bello
also Strange Ranger are nothing like TWIABP but they fuckin rule nonetheless

@Rowan I will listen more ... I gave Strange Ranger about a 10 second listen and that was my impression. Excited to check them out more.

they're definitely heavily indebted to Modest Mouse but they throw in dream pop and shoegazey stuff too. they were a bit heavier back when they were called Sioux Falls, but the last album Remembering the Rockets is fuckin gorgeous
also my impression is Tyler plays or played guitar for them regularly but I don't think he's a permanent member

Thank you for providing everyone with a far better description. I am excited to check them out.
"but I don't think he's a permanent member"
Band member listings seem to suggest this, but reviews and interviews kept referring to him as a member/guitarist for them. Regardless he is involved

Remembering The Rockets is one of my favorite albums of the past few years, highly recommended even though it didn't catch on too much with Sputnik

I listened to that back when it came out and thought it was just OK
Obviously I very much prefer TWIABP

for everyone coming in to this band for the first time, these guys have the best discography in the emo revival gang. everything is worth checking. I wish I could make it simple and say just check Harmlessness or even just all their LPs but that's neglecting so much gold. plenty of gems are on their convenient Assorted Works compilation of b-sides and whatnot
also, as you could imagine, they're an experience live
