Haha yea, it's part of the fun for sure. One of the best albums to jam along with.

Chad Smith is underrated as hell on this thing. He might not be the best drummer in the world, but he does have a lot more technical ability and power than a lot of people give him credit for... especially on early albums like this one or Mother's Milk

yeah every single band member is on fire in this. but Kiedis is the biggest highlight imo. these lyrics, goddamn

Doesn't this album include 'Give it Away' & the lyrics are good? I'm confused here, the rest of the record must be on another level entirely.

That's promising, although I've never liked these guys & not sure I can be bothered listening to this if I'm being honest.

Was just thinking how the drumming is on point here. He does have a lot of fun with the hi-hat, but otherwise it's super simple and groovy stuff.

It's funny how the band completely hated The Greeting Song; that's actually one of my favorites here. That main groove is so tight and fun to listen to

Blasting this back in ‘92 Greeting Song was me fave behind Blood Sugar and Under the Bridge. Greeting Song is still right up there, the one I like a lot more now is Suck My Kiss. Tune.

I guess it's natural for bands to eventually run out of steam in their older years, but it's disappointing RHCP are not making music anywhere near this level nowadays. This is probably their best album (either this or Californication, for me), and their best days of touring were arguably the early-to-mid 00s when the best line-up were at the heights of their powers. I feel grateful for hearing them around then (and at Portman Road, my local football team's stadium). Does anybody recommend checking out Frusciante's solo stuff, I've never got around to sitting down and listening to a full album.

I've only heard their stuff from Mother's Milk to By the Way but this is easily my favorite. And I'm sure it still would be when/if I check out everything else
