Just jam Monarchy

And more specifically Sand Baptism

And more specifically the 15 second tasty ass guitar lick near the end

The Void from Which No Sound Escapes, MORE?, Episode, and Terrestria IV: Work are pretty much the best songs from this album. Everything else ranges from mediocre to just straight up bad.

Episode is easily my favorite song from the album and probably the only song I see myself going back to in the long term.

I think there's potential with this new style of theirs but they really need to hone and refine it.

Overall I'm definitely disappointed with this one. I knew it was gonna be really hard to live up to Owls but this is really off the mark for me.

Tbh I might've liked this more than Owls, which I remember being even more jarring and off the wall. I probably should revisit it however as I haven't jammed it much in the last year or two.

Yeah the Tower series might be the most offensive low points here, especially Towers 2. Those and Maybe One Day are definitely the few tracks that I can't imagine being good in any album's context.

Up till ''The Void from Which No Sound Escapes'' I only dislike ''Focus'', and I adore the other tracks, even the joyful ''Wait''

Still have to form an assured opinion on the rest

The hate is astonishing. This is one of the freshest metal albums I've heard in a long time.

If it’s got a wonky chart that means it’s doing something noteworthy

In conclusion Rivers of Nihil are a land of contrasts

POV: you think a band is talk of the town, and when you decide to check out their new album everyone's bashing it

Maybe I spoiled Rivers of Nihil with my timing

nah, I don't think that this will be as bashed as Owls tbh, despite the avg.
