Yeah no more guns feels a little out of place on this, but it is, nevertheless, well-executed.
I think my Mylar-foiled vinyl came today while I was at work haha looking forward to that

this slapped my only real complaint is will permanently swap the last 2 tracks on this thing bc kiss and tell is a straaaaaaange choice for the closer
rlly dug the poppier cure vibes i got from some tracks, most notably automatic

Not sure how I feel about this, but I do know it is a lot better than the past couple of Blink albums.

Damn, good ratings, gotta check, I guess

Kiss & Tell still a weird ass closer though.

First listen, great but expected better given all the delays

Digging it so far, not a fan of No More Guns. Sounds too similar to newer Green Day and that’s not a good thing. Other than that it’s fun, I like that they have streamlined their songwriting on the last two albums

Great review man. I have a very similar experience, as I too was a bit late to the AVA party. However, it seems I fell in love with the U2 sound of the first four albums moreso than you did.
Overall though, it really does feel like the whole AVA timeline culminates to this record. And while I hate the way Rise released this with the breadcrumb trail of singles leaving only 3 tracks unheard, it really does flow cohesively as an album experience and might end up being my favorite album by them thus far.

yeah I was ready to just treat this as a compilation of singles + some bonuses like Gorillaz Song Machine, but it really does flow super well and the pacing is terrific. still tho in a world where I controlled the rollout and could warn them about the whole covid thing I would've done:
Single 1: Euphoria. no announcement just reminds everyone that the band exists w that meaty goddamn riff
Single 2: Losing My Mind + announcement and preorder
Single 3: Rebel Girl I guess. already think 3 is a bit much but this song did surprising good numbers in real life, would reignite hype a few weeks before release p well

Short album, but on first listen, this is pretty damn solid. Seems fairly on par with The Dream Walker, both in sound and quality.

Automatic sounds like a Cure song, I dig.

And yeah Spellbound is fantastic agreed, definitely the best song here and one of AvA’s best songs period.

euphoria is such an interestingly constructed song. and this is a good album. It'll probably grow on me with more listens

This is so much better than I expected going in. I can see this growing on me more too.

The vocals sounds horrendous. I know it's the future, but the producer went to far with melodyne. There's only a hint of Delongs signature crackling wail.
