That Liquid Metal performance is all around outstanding, I highly recommend watching all 3 parts on the Spiritbox channel.

This album could have benefited from an interlude or two. Some transitions feel really abrupt, like Halcyon into Circle With Me. The Summit feels a bit awkward in its placement as well.

I'm kinda glad people are falling slightly off the hype train on this. Its good but its not anything special honestly

I'd agree that their older material was better, but this is still very strong imo. Most of my issues are with the flow of the track list, not with the tracks themselves. It's a bit of an awkward listen, but an awkward transition from one great song to another is hardly a major gripe.

Honestly, I don't really care that much about that flow. My issues are with the songs themselves

Checking this out now and oh boy is it fun

"Lmao Sam hates the blegh now, he said he wished he never did it"
Thats a huge bummer if true. It is the most important part of the band.

I'd be surprised if he ever did it again on a new song

He made Courtney do the blegh for him on Yellowjacket lmao

Honestly if you put Blessed Be after Secret Garden and Rule of Nines after Halcyon it would fix most of my flow issues here.

4.0 so far for me. Great album, I love it. The vocals of this Sam Carter are an ahm...interesting blend of generic and unnerving. Pretty shitty song. It´s the only song I skip.
They should have replaced this one by Blessed be and Rules of Nine - then it would have been a 4.5 for me.
But man, The Summit is the best pop song I listened to since ages.
50% of the greatness are made by the prodcuer. What a treat to listen to. Yes, overproduced and it lacks dynamic. On the other hand there is so much going on thanks to the addition of effects and synths - great fun to listen with analytic headphones. And man, the guitars are so forceful. I just hope, they don´t loose the heaviness. Then the music would truely suffer. Anyway, great album. Let´s see it if stands the test of time.

hurt you and yellowjacket are the only skips i have everything else is great. will say putting those two tracks back to back does not help the momentum of this record early on but again the two non album singles fill that space very nicely

all of this is pretty equally average except Hurt You which is trash and Halcyon which is decent
edit: closer's aight too but the rating sticks. this is way overproduced and the songwriting is way too formulaic
