This is cute and has a couple good moments but its hardly enough to justify the gimmick imo

Finally getting around to this. I was shocked when I checked to see how many songs were left when I was on Ol’ Dood (pt II) and saw it was the last one. 27 minutes is definitely weird for a concept album, especially one with “ballad” in the name, but I gotta say that I enjoy what is here. That western-mountain-folk sound is one of my favorites and he nails it here. Just wish it were longer and had a more compelling story.

Always really enjoyed this one. What’s up with Sturgill lately? Feels like he’s fading out of the limelight
