I can imagine a crowd going apeshit during Lament for Wasps; best vocals on IG.

The crescendo at the end of Great mass of color was a spectacle to see in person

Fuckkk I gotta catch these guys when they get to the midwest next year. Can't imagine how amazing Great Mass is live...

Plus they still play their old stuff so that's awesome. Cause whew I was kinda worried they would make a full transition to shoegaze and their sets would get boring after awhile

That's the one I was planning on! I should be easy to find if you go Feather. I have shiny teeth and an earring that levitates underneath my earlobe

I’m a giant ancient chicken God who will most likely be in the center of the crowd! Message me in March if you end up going. Lincoln Hall is a favorite venue of mine

I know the 2 shows here in Cali were dubbed as "Album Release" shows. Hopefully they do play the whole album for the rest of the dates along with that half hour of old songs.

Damn, I didn't catch that. Hopefully they at least play 5+ of the new tracks on their March tour.

Stunning review, wow. Album is a bit pudgy and soft. Deafheaven are clearly insecure, but i suppose everyone knows this already

This has been my biggest grower of the year, started at a 3.3, and is now sitting on a 4.5.

Album is still amazing. Feel like their next one is gonna be a perfect blend between their old stuff and new stuff. Can't wait to hear that in another 3 years lol

yh, deafheaven could maybe be an okay metal band if they just dropped the genre bullshit once and for all. releasing OCHL and, ig, this is a smart mid-career move though bc it's gonna be significantly easier to view whatever they do next as positive steps

They definitely seem like a band that doesn't know what to do with their sound I must admit.

if they just stuck to the 10-min metal tracks and stopped doing weird interludes and piano ballads they'd be fine experimenting with their sound, I think. it's just all the experimentation where it disrupts the flow that gets them.

You’re all nuts, their experimentation and genre-bending is what makes them special and results in their best material like Sunbather, OCHL, and this.
