Shellstar is my favorite so far after first listen, it should have been the 2nd single instead of The Gnashing.

Ye Shellstar is comfortably the best, with I'm Blur not so far behind

I feel this could have been the best Deafheaven if they worked harder to sustain a few great atmospheres rather than forcing every track to reach Great Heights but alas

Agreed, this admittedly wasn't immediate. Loved my first listen, but a lot of it seemed to blend together besides Villain and Mombasa.

On my third spin now and these songs are definitely forming their own identity. Can tell this is gonna grow on people.

Yeah truly I dig the direction but it all felt so samey to me and reliant on crescendos and stuff for impact that it just fell flat but I hope I dig it more over time

Real good. I'm happy with this. I think the album and songs are really focussed and have an identity (even down to each instruments clarity in the mix), which is what I look for.
