I had the same feeling for a while too but even those won me over. They're not the strongest songs but they emit so much charm, just like the rest of the album.

I'll jump onto the "Strange Desire is a 5" bandwagon, if you'll have me.
This one was definitely disappointing in the context of his previous work, I feel like there are way too many ballads for such a short album and nothing truly jumped out at me here. Might be getting some Antonoff burn-out lol

whoa sowing that dig - are we gonna get a Sowing 5 review for a CCM band?

haha, it's possible
I'm waiting to see if I'm just tripping and will want to recant that 5 in a few days, or if I really love it as much as I seem to right now. The lyrics are so good that I don't even care about the radio rock/CCM vibes

A lot of this kinda floated by me but I will say I enjoyed big life + secret life being right next to each other

Agreed, the track with the grimes feature is the only one I always skip

Gone Now is one of my all time favorite records. SD is also up there. But this record was a HUGE disappointment. Only a couple songs worth going back to.
Also, for people who don't like Gone Now - did you see him tour off that album? My all time favorite performance was his set at Riot Fest a couple years ago.

When he's on it, he's on it. The band are good. Not all of it works for me, though.

If Jack Antonoff helped you would you help Jack Antonoff?
