Following the dissolution of Creed, the much-derided band's 3 musicians join forces with vocalist Myles Kennedy to form Alter Bridge... And if their debut LP 'One Day Remains' is anything to go by, then it may just be a blessing in disguise. Leaning more towards modern hard-rock than Creed's post-grunge, guitarist Mark Tremonti is especially revitalized on this occasionally aggressive release, letting loose on a number of terrific solos. And while a few of Creed's traits unfortunately still exist, Kennedy's more bluesy vocal range results in a surprisingly satisfying debut. Recommended Tracks: Metalingus, Find the Real, The End is Here & One Day Remains.

Davey, you are now obligated to give Blackbird at least a 4.5.

Saw them live yesterday. Wow!

Didn't play 'Metalingus' though... Must have retired it with Edge. :-(

Wow, really? I didn't think they'd ever leave that out of their sets until they had at least 5 albums under their belt.

I just looked up the setlist, they could have easily played that instead of Find The Real.

I'm pretty sure they played it at their headlining sideshow, but not at the festival. To me, it's arguably their catchiest song, and I do think their set needs just a few more sing-along moments... Probably the only weakness I could mention though. Fantastic performance.

Happy now!? :-)

I am indeed. Glad to hear they performed well, I've never actually seen them live myself (shocking, right) but their live DVD is fantastic as well as other videos I've seen of them.

SHOCKED! LOST FOR WORDS! YOU'RE A PHONEY! ;-)

Haha, you won't be disappointed. Their low end was surprisingly strong, yet didn't at all detract from the 2 starts of the show.

Yikes, you've seen 'em live AND have a higher rating of this album than I do.

I need to start being a bigger fanboy right away.

Well, if I see a user-name Metalingus, I know you have started your plan with an alt.

Maybe I should just start pretending this was their best album because it was their first.

Lol alright that was pretty funny tiesthatbind. That was a clever one, gave me a chuckle. Don't worry though, I got both Blackbird and AB III at 3.5/5. I think this album is pretty bad though, sorry lol.
