this was so much heavier and more frenetic than i expected

also i like the cover, it feels like a more realized (and less meme-y) style for her

This could have used a bigger melodic injection to counterbalance the aggression, but there's no way I'm handing out less than a 4 for Poppy actually screaming for a full EP.

Her vocals on this remind me a lot of Cara from The Armed. I dig it.

most of the melodic bits on here don't gel too well tbh, that tacked on af Epic 8bar Bridge on the opener and Breeders esp. max aggro is p much perf for this; melodic poppy usually has her at her most plastic and that's the last thing we need here

breeders is great smh!! that layering of singy and scremy during parts of the chorus works so well

but yeah i think this has just the right amount of melody, perhaps if it were a full length one sick of the sun-esque song would've been neat

this was fun! quite an authentic sound from a gimmicky artist (hated the debut album and been turned off since). was a good idea to just go aggressive with no hamfisted pop elements

This is just tiresome. Respect the impressive quantity of music she releases, but the quality is just not there on this. Immature Couture remains her peak.

Damn she really went in with the screaming on this one, kinda shocked considering where her sound started.

Sorta like this. Her previous release was... Interesting? But not really my thing. Agree with the review in the sense that this seems way more focused and is a pretty vast improvement over her last release because of it.

The jazzy part in Say Cheese is better than Cynic's whole discography
