This does end strongly and I'm expecting it to grow but I wouldn't say it's better than Visions, it has some of the same problems for me in terms of being a little bit all over the place

Lots of people seem to be saying this is where Wolf Alice have really clicked and realised their full potential. I'm not so sure

i fully agree with this being a little bit all over the place. thats how i feel about each wolf alice album

each lp has a few great songs then quite a few mediocre ones to me

they put on a decent live show tho, were great when i saw them a couple years ago

I thought it was just okay at first but it's grown a bit. Still feels like it could have been more.

I really liked this on first listen -- I think Wolf Alice's all-over-the-place-ness is part of the charm, and the mixing is just superb.

I still think "Heavenward" off the last one is the best song they've ever written, though.

This kind of indie is usually a hard sell for me. But this is so well done and has some magic in it. Wish there were a few more rock tunes but the softer stuff is equally mesmerizing.

Sounds as garish as the disgusting neon colour palette cover.

Smile verses have such powerful mid 2000s energy I can't resist it

as much as I love the all-over-the-place-ness I think for Wolf Alice to truly reach their potential they need songs that organically shift between their various aspects (the gazey stuff, the frantic punk-adjacent stuff and the softer ballad stuff), in addition to songs dedicated to one side or another.

still dig this, it's a solid 4 in my book

Anyone else getting a big Fleetwood Mac vibe from How Can I Make This OK? That song is pure bliss for me.

I thought of Haim first, but they are heavily Mac influenced so I can see it

This is definitely better than the usual run of the mill indie lite schlep dished out by tossers.

Surprisingly good.

Both Smile and Greatest Hits are perfect within the context of the album as a whole and necessary deviations from the formula.

Haven't dipped into any Wolf Alice since the debut, which I found bizarrely overhyped and forgettable, sadly.... but, damn, this is really nice. Absolutely giving it multiple spins.
