The new song is amazing and also extremely unique. I will not be surprised if this will be AOTY for me.

“crazy how they already almost have their next album out”

Apparently they’ve played all the songs on here live before, there’s even a bootleg version of the new album on yt that’s just a live performance of each song. They’ve even performed songs that haven’t been released yet that’s not gonna be on the new one

Following is from a conversation earlier with various relatives, family friends and (cited verbatim from memory) writer from the Spectator:

"...and I don't believe in people. Not at all. I'm a nihilist - the only thing I believe in whatsoever is aesthetics. Beauty. I'd go with Adorno's definition that beauty is that which has no practical value in the slightest. It is useless. Adorno takes the example of a housewife, who complains about reading Proust because there no characters to whom she can relate. That's sub-human to me - the idea that art is purely about being able to relate to people like you is just retarded. People who want art to be about things have completely missed the point of any value it might have had, and this is why the Guardian and everything it represents is just an insult to everything worthwhile about the world to me. And also why no good art is being made in the world at all anymore. Like, how can you look at yourself with the vaguest respect as a human being pretending that any good art has been made since Fellini, Tarkovsky or Antonioni?"

"Okay so yeah, uh, okay sure, but what would you say was the last good British record?"

"Well, that's a hard one..."

"Do you like Black Midi?"

"Haha well actually, yes, but..."

[entirety of conversation took 7 hours and about as many bottles of sparkling and rolled 101% into nu-fascism zionist explicitly-anti-human-rights[sic] bonzanza territory; I am royally twatted and never want to make or hear mention of this stupid fucking band again]
