bruh the staff reviewer having the most npc swancore take of all time lmao - Icarus the Owl is probably one of the most different "swancore" bands in the scene. they don't even fully encapsulate the label, they're a mathy pop punk band more than anything

new album is a really fucking good! Granted, that's on one listen but damn it sunk in instantly. Production is stellar and Donovan sounds fantastic

"they're a mathy pop punk band more than anything" and we love them for it : )

60 Minute Session Breaks is so good, love the chorus.

also, thinking Chunker and Mind Rider should've switched places, Chunker def feels like a track 2

first i felt liked this lacked heaviness (save for Tithe) but i actually have been feeling like those short bursts are really powerful. like, the bridge just makes Maladapted work.

also does anyone hear the outro of Tithe and think of Grimes or...

wish that part was longer, kinda makes me feel the same problem that i have with songs like Solipsism and to a lesser extent Misfire that just kinda end when I feel like they didn't have to (both have grown on me tremendously for what they are though) and it's just like how you can you just give such a cool part a fade out. it didn't even last that long : /

tithe made me think they were gonna do a straight up heavy song at the start of the verses and tbh i think it would have been better for it. they should try their hand at that on the next one, or at least something that isnt majority cleans

that's what i thought, KINDA made me think of dgd's the rattler where i think the cleans fucking ruined that shit BUT i think this def works for what it is.
