Yeah people talking during concerts is one of my biggest pet peeves. I guess part of the issue with an act like this is they have a wide audience that will draw some folks not fully into them/their kind of thing, especially if they play a lot of the drone stuff.

Post-rock in general and godspeed in specific has never struck me as something that translates very well to a live setting
Not that I don't believe everyone who says their live show is great, I just personally have a hard time seeing it

Hey, DoofDoof, I also saw them during the 'Allelujah!' tour (in New Orleans) and that's exactly how it was. I showed up hoping they'd maybe play a couple of older songs, and by the end of the set, I was just hoping they'd play a song, any song! It was completely energy free, atmosphere free, just them sitting around and droning away disinterested. That may have been the most disappointing show I've been to, even more disappointing than the These Arms Are Snakes show I went to where they were so wasted, they cut the set off after 30 minutes (and broke up shortly thereafter).

I saw them for Allelujah tour and they played a 40ish minute track that would become Asunder. Was pretty droney but ends in piss crowns so it was pretty hype. Back then they called it Behemoth
