This band was so good from around 1995-2000, the poppier they became the worse they became. But man they had some absolute killer songs and albums in that five year span, this is a classic of 90s alt rock, also much punkier than their later stuff. Heroin Girl, Santa Monica, and You Make Me Feel like a Whore are classics.

Art had such a fucked up life too it's remarkable he's alive and healthy.

I'd argue that they got progressively worse with each release and World of Noise is their best.

Basically what I meant when I said "the poppier they became" because they fell off and they fell off HARD after those first few albums. I didn't even know they had an album before this until recently and haven't checked it out yet so that will be my obvious next step. This one is great though.

Yeah I really used to love these guys. This and So Much for the Afterglow are classics, the two Songs from an American movie albums are pretty good with some great songs, just kind of inconsistent...then Slow Motion Daydream came out and it was horrible. They haven’t made a good album since.

Art Alexakis seems like a really cool guy. Funny.

This is EASILY their best. WON was pretty good but you could tell they were still finding their sound. They perfected it with this album.

It does contain MORE of their best stuff. Such a completely stacked album.

Fucking classic. One of the best albums of the ‘90s. So Much for the Afterglow is great too but not on this level.??

The first six songs are obviously the stand outside, but The Twistinside is the unsung hero. Love how it builds up and explodes.
