review kind of confuses me, the keyboards never feel even remotely out of place and barely deserve a mention. i'd mention just how much this things sounds like Spoon so frequently as well as the juxtaposition of such bleak lyrics with such upbeat music.
also why run through the Run for Cover roster without mentioning stuff like Elvis Depressedly, Wicca Phase Springs Eternal, Field Medic... you know the bands / artists kicking ass on the label?

bc those are not artists i associate with citizen a whole lot (hence the seven years ago thing) and wouldn't have worked w the dumb joke i tried to make lol. all great artists tho!
and fair enough re lyrics, i chose not to focus on them since they weren't all that special/noteworthy to me (outside of the cut off ur head line haha)

Not me, just listening to one song from this record and it'll be stuck in my head for days. ABSURDLY good. easily the best thing they've done. dropping the other members focused them and made them way hungrier. The first three tracks are the best starting trio this year, all three are 10 / 10 songs.
