Review Summary: Groovy AF!

If you don’t like riffs that shred you into pieces, you won’t like this album. If you don’t enjoy listening to an incredible vocalist that has incredible skill and stamina, allowing audible beauty to be easily attainable, I’m afraid you won’t like this album. Indeed, if you don’t want to find some of the catchiest music you will ever hear, you shouldn’t listen to this album. If you’re an ignorant tweeny bopper that believes metal has to be avante garde and weird as ***, while simultaneously being so heavy you can’t actually hear melodies and a good album to you sounds like the garborator in your kitchen, you probably won’t like this album. If you happen to post your musical opinions on a musical forum and are an overly critical asshole believing your music taste is godly, and no other forms of music are allowed to exist, you won’t like this album. If you 5’d Radiohead’s Kid A like a complete twat you won’t like this album. If you like bad music you won’t like this album.

Ra are here to take all the prisoners, and flex in front of those inmates. The album starts with a song so dang catchy I got caught up in a zen like state, nearly reaching the cosmos, until a celestial deer slapped me back to Earth. And then the album gets EVEN CATCHIER. Honestly, if you can’t dance to this album you are a reanimated corpse or just a twat. The songs with guest vocalists would be top 10, chart crushing pop songs if it weren’t for the riffs that’ll have you head banging yourself into a blissful concussion. Who would’ve thought Ra would go so poppy? Not I, but I love it. This would be pop album of the year if it weren’t for that ***ING SHREDTASTISCMAGORIC INSANE RIFFAGE. Like seriously, the opening riff of Let it Lie is ten times harder than the heaviest rock on Earth. Something different, however, is the final song on the album that progs so hard it sounds like Ra collaborated with Dream Theater. I love that song, and you will love it too or I will make sure you never love anything ever again. Especially your dog. Somehow the changes in their sound sounds completely natural and Ra the entire time which is pretty cool my man.

Christmas came early. This album has the singers from Sevendust and Starset on here. They both sound fantastic on this album.
Sahaj (the singer of Ra) also sings amazing like usual, hitting freaking high and long notes and somehow making them sound like how I feel after I drink a Shamrock Shake. It goes down smooth for sure. This is easily their best album since Duality, pick this album up right now. Stop thinking about how lame your life is, get this album instead. And that’s all the mental health help you get from me in this review. Next time you must pay with your first born child.

Ra is still as weird as ever with their combined nu-metal, hard rock, alt metal, with pop, and also Arabic and progressive elements. The pop is what brings the album into cohesion, and Sahaj’s vocal style very similar to Sting gives the album a surprising classic rock vibe while still being super modern. The Arabic elements are noticeably diminished and mostly shines through in one song in a twist you won’t see coming. I’m playing nice in this paragraph so the mods won’t delete this review tbh, but all you need to know is this. GREAT ALBUM. RA IS BACK BABY.

I've never really listened to this band, but the t/t sounds quite similar to Starset's "Satellite" at times, with less electronics

Excellent album, if these guy got half the slack Chevelle and Alterbridge do they would be way more respected around here. For some reason people come down hard on Ra when they make way more interesting and exciting music than most of their peers.

I don't think it helps that while they're technically part of the radio rock world, they never had a big hit single or album the way bands like Chevelle or even Alter Bridge did, and so not many even really know about them

Nice guitar sound, the vocalist has a very good sound and range (amazing actually). There's some severe early Bieber cuts here that keeps me from digging this at mid 30's.
