I thought the boys and gals were hyping this up something shocking?
You were Nocte only so you could give this a 2.5-3 and say it ain't good because it ain't disso death.
First part of the review felt at first as if written by Johnnyofthewell on a crack rant about Colton but second part was aight. Congrats on the promotion though porc

Yeah the Audie Pitre joke might’ve been a little too far, but I’ll stand by it. 20+ years passed is LONG ENOUGH lmao
As to Joey, was going less for jokes and more a general flippancy, which feels in line with the tone they strike about death on the records.

I’m more shocked because I didn’t realise I was the ‘dissodeath’ guy. Like is black metal a thing anymore?

Mitochondrion went and blurred the lines beyond recognition and now there's no dang clarity anymore, death metal this, black metal that, it's all just a spectrum from Deathspell on one end to Portal on the other

Alright disso death disso bm guy, it just seems like you, jac and notrap overrate the shit out of those genres tbh and everyone just seems to follow without questioning that there are other forms of music

Wardruna, Moonspell, Steve von Till, and Sevendust are that chaotic disso shit in Nocte’s wheelhouse, agreed

!!!! Still waiting on the first Omair contrib extravaganza!! Keeping your fans in suspense?

Sorry I just wish some of the contributors/staff would review older shit and actually review outside their comfort zone such as some classic jazz. It just seems that people on here focus way too much on new music and not enough on some of the unknown classics in the past.

Do it

Fair, but there is an (admittedly not strict) expectation that staff/contrib focus energy on new releases, keep site engagement up and the ad revenue for Jeremy’s cash cow flowing in
That said, Parks has been saying Mississippi John Hurt needs reviewin’
|
| |
I did and I'm still planning to but the staff/contributors reviews hold more weight than mine and they can do more yet they're always sticking in their own lanes yet for the very occasional break from it.

Sure, you re totally right.
Even the new stuff, if it passes over a couple of weeks on them they don't get a rev. Not cool.
|
| |
I think that has to break at some point porc, at least trying to listen to new releases from different genres than simply metal, indie, rock, prog etc. and the side projects that revolve around them. I think my personal dream is to make genres that aren't as popular more popular on Sputnik.
