I really enjoyed night eternal once upon a time, fond memories playing WoW during the lich king expansion with that one on repeat. has this band released anything with similar sound/quality since that album?

I really loved their debut album, but then I gave up on this band about 20 years ago.

So here we have yet another bland radio-friendly album. If only this was bad, then at least it would be something.

It seems they'll forever be the 3-3.5/5 kind of band now.

The only thing I can remember about this band at this point is EVERYTHING INVADED

Haven’t jammed them in years

I like this album. I was thinking about it more, and it's like Irreligious-era Moonspell meets In Absentia-era Porcupine Tree.

Part of me is still torn. I hear some of the best riffs they've done in a long time but I can't push aside this middling feeling of stripped down Moonspell - but I don't mean there's nothing here because that's obviously not true.

I felt like I heard some Soen in the mix. Idk if it's the sound or the riffs, because the riffs are not as complex.

Also, don't tell me that the vocals at the beginning of Hermitage don't sound like Mastodon *a bit*

Might give this a spin, I haven't listened to Moonspell in so long. I remember the last album I got from them (this was back when I bought physical media) had some song about "not all vampires drink blood, not all vampires die for love" or some nonsense like that and I just couldn't stop laughing. Wolfheart was pretty cool back in the day though. I think the album I just mentioned was Darkness and Hope, that sounds about right.

Looked it up and that song is Rapaces and it's "not all vampires suck blood."

It's either this or some stoner rock band I've forgotten the name of

Hermitage and Solitarian might be the most lush songs I've ever heard from Moonspell.

This hovers between 3.5 and 4 for me. Honestly might be my favorite Moonspell outside of Wolfheart.

I think I kind of like their more tame moments, they do lovely but slightly ominous incredibly well imo

I enjoyed All or Nothing, though the mixing is really weird

Weird how, I didn’t notice too much wrong apart from some vocal burying.

Sucking blood is optional for a vampire. Must fight the good fight XD
