Overly long. Overly boring. What is the point of having Josh Middleton if you don’t let him riff?

I don't see how Daybreaker and LFLT sound the same at all
|

"I swear I even hear autotune here and here."
I am sure there were moments like this on Holy Hell as well. I don't like it either, but in this style it kinda fits imo

I really wanted to give this a chance b/c I know sput gets easily triggered by metal songs with choruses, but yeah this is not good. I’ll give credit to Sam Carter’s singing b/c I do believe he’s trying, but man this is too damn long and the guitarists have almost nothing to do. These Imagine Dragons-esque “whooaaaaaa” melodies get old fast, and the metalcore parts are super generic to feel like a reprieve. I’m genuinely curious why they chose these singles, you could put any of these songs as singles and it would have the same effect.

I don't get the radio appeal. Do people still really listen to radio enough for a band to consider changing their sound let alone on a single channel on SiriusXM!

This is really bad. Shame, this band got me into metalcore and I genuinely enjoyed their live shows..

It looks like someone ghost neg’d my review. I’d love to know if they really thought my review wasn’t well written or they simply disagreed with my opinion. I tried to be fair and I was hoping to like the album, but I don’t know how anyone would argue that this album isn’t a simplification of their sound which makes their music far more accessible for a general radio rock crowd.

Hmm i wont lie i thought discourse is dead, impermanence and ordinary extinction were all .. i mean at least okay 2.5-3.5 territory.
That's all I heard so far. Not sure if I should be cautiously optimistic for the rest smh.

I love the ghost negs without any constructive criticism. I guess fans can’t handle the fact that this album is divisive, plain and simple, and some aren’t gonna lavish the band with praise regardless of the album’s quality.

this is a fine review but whining about negs only makes me want to neg it

just don't let the ghost negs get to you... they're simply ghost negs, not much you can do about it
|

You could always whine in the meds thread about it, ghost negs are the one thing taken seriously around here so chances are they will help you mend your ego if you ask nice
