The vocals on sweven are perfect. Might bump to a 5, gotta spin it again it's been a while. Fun fact: if you flip through the earlier pages in that thread you'll find me calling the album garbage! Something changed and I ended up loving the album after a few years.

its from 1987 and nobody remembers it but its got some surprisingly cool writing at times, better than 90%+ samey bands which i dont deny exist for one second btw

I love all of this. Focus is one of my all time favourite albums. Also elements by atheist is overlooked, even if unquestionable presence is better.

I think we have a lot in common when it comes to good dm, surprisingly. I'm curious as to how you'd rate this

They do I just find dm to be especially oversaturated with generic shit

its just a matter of what you're exposed to

you can find hundreds of projects on bandcamp and such trying to ape deafheaven, alcest clones, wannabe silencers, burzum worshippers etc that are just as uninteresting

on the whole bm has probably got worse over the last 10 years if only because it's easier to make than other genres
